Ishigaki Island is home to vast subtropical jungle that even most locals have never entered. Hamachan grew up playing in these forests. He knows where every secret waterfall hides, which trees shelter giant fruit bats, and which trails lead to the best viewpoints.
Giant ferns, banyan tree aerial roots, waterfalls cascading down rock walls — the subtropical forest is a world that stimulates all five senses. Hamachan teaches you the names and features of the plants and animals as you walk, filling every step with discovery. Your kids' "why?" and "what's that?" will never stop.
At the finish point, enjoy Hamachan's live sanshin music and light snacks. The sound of sanshin echoing through the forest is extraordinary. Rain boots are provided free of charge — just bring comfortable clothing and you're all set. This is a secret route only Hamachan can guide you through, impossible with any other tour company.
Tour Itinerary
- Meet & Gear Check (15 min) - Rent rain boots and go over safety briefing. Insect repellent is provided.
- Jungle Trek Begins (60 min) - Step into the subtropical forest. Giant fern groves, banyan tunnels, rock scrambling. Hamachan narrates the wildlife along the way.
- Secret Waterfall & Scenic Point (40 min) - Rest at a hidden waterfall deep in the jungle. Splash around in the natural pool if conditions allow. Photo time.
- Sanshin Live & Snacks (30 min) - In a clearing in the forest, enjoy Hamachan's sanshin performance with drinks and island treats.
- Descent & Farewell (30 min) - Take a different route back down. You might discover something new on the return trip.
